Campus Strategic Plan
“Focusing on Urban Excellence: A Vision for Achieving Excellence at Chicago’s Public Research University”
This report was prepared in response to a request by University of Illinois Vice President for Academic Affairs Christophe Pierre on behalf of President Easter and the Board of Trustees to “complete a strategic plan to guide academic investments and resource allocations and reallocation over the next three years.”

Student Success Initiative
The Student Success Initiative is a collective change management process for assuring the timely graduation for every UIC undergraduate that began with Chancellor’s charge to the Undergraduate Policy Council in February 2012. The overall goal of the initiative is to significantly increase student success rates as measured by first-to-second-year retention and six-year graduation rates.

Diversity Strategic Thinking and Planning
A Mosaic for a UIC Transformation
UIC will take advantage of and build upon its diversity to create, share, and apply knowledge that prepares people for citizenship in a changing global society. The diversity of the members of our campus community will be apparent and, moreover, UIC will be known as an institution of higher education where diversity is a cornerstone of intellectual achievement.
