UIUC Office of the CIO
The campus Chief Information Officer at UIUC is responsible for IT strategies and capabilities supporting excellence in research, education, and outreach at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The CIO’s portfolio includes responsibility for IT governance, IT polices, the campus central IT organization (Technology Services, formerly known as CITES), and initiatives to help the campus exploit new technologies in support of scholarship.
- Technology Services (formerly CITES) — TS is the provider of campus-wide computing, networking, storage, communications, and instructional technology services at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. TS partners with campus to provide world-class, innovative, cost effective technologies and services that help foster discoveries and innovations from our researchers, transform the teaching and learning experiences of faculty and students, and improve the efficiency and security of the university’s processes and data
- UIUC IT Governance — IT Governance is a group of interconnected committees that evaluate and recommend IT directions in support of research, teaching and learning, and public engagement. The governance committees are faculty-led but include participation from students, staff, and administrators in an on-going effort to align IT resources and capabilities with campus needs
- UIUC Campus Initiatives — Members of the CIO’s Office and campus partners are engaged in a number of initiatives to enhance IT capabilities for faculty, students, and staff, and to maximize cost effectiveness
