Farokh Eslahi, CIO
The campus Chief Information Officer at UIUC is responsible for IT strategies and capabilities supporting excellence in research, education, and outreach at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The CIO’s portfolio includes responsibility for IT governance, IT polices, the campus central IT organization (Technology Services, formerly known as CITES), and initiatives to help the campus exploit new technologies in support of scholarship.
- Information Technology Services — ITS advances the mission of UIS by ensuring reliable core systems and network infrastructure, excellent technology support, and promoting and assisting technology integration into the curriculum and business processes
- UIS IT Governance — Information Technology Services works with the university community as a whole and, specifically, with technology-focused units across the campus to identify strategies, emerging technologies, standards, infrastructure, and services in support of the UIS mission, vision, and strategic plan.
- UIS Strategic Plan (2013 – 2016) — ITS collaborates to proactively identify opportunities, mitigate risks, plan future initiatives, and solve problems by leveraging all information technology resources and knowledge.
