The campus will be implementing a new, common email and calendaring system starting Fall 2015.
The IT Strategic Planning process identified ubiquitous wireless access as a priority. In response to this need, the Provost’s Office has provided ACCC $2.3 million for each of the next three years to improve wireless access. University Hall and the Nursing Building are this year’s projects, and ACCC will work with IT Governance to determine the priorities over the next two years.
The CIO has launched an effort to assess and evaluate the communication needs of the campus. The services being addressed include instant messaging (chat), presence information, voice (including IP telephony), and audio, web & video conferencing.
The CIO has also initiated a project to assess and recommend best practices for disaster recovery of data and systems.
The purpose of the Records and Information Management Services (RIMS) office is to provide a cohesive approach to the effective management of records and information resources throughout the University of Illinois, across all departments and campuses.
A funding model that identifies a bundle of core IT services in order to provide reliable services to the campus community.
The initiative will identify areas of the most risk within IT. In an effort to promote risk reduction and mitigation, the effort will prioritize, communicate, advise, and promote awareness around areas of highest risk.
